Of course Taylor is saying a lot of things today..... Most meant to muddy the waters and deflect criticism..
Including how benevolent the new board are, with their plan and if only the mean and nasty tax folk had waited, till we got back in the Prem (provided we did so within 5 years) they'd have, generously been given an extra 30p in the pound which would go a long way to building that much needed new school. The shortfall could be made up by Mr. Taylor and his nice friend Mr. Bates seeking charity donations from others. Hmmm anybody see a pattern of always wanting someone else to fund their ideas? Now what didn't he say???? 1) if they'd paid the taxes when they'd been supposed to (instead of misappropriating them) then the mean old tax man and his education department henchmen would already have 7.7 million pounds in hand, enough to build 3 such schools, without any charity. 2) Nor did he say that by the time the 5 years comes around (if it ever does) the cost of building said school will, logically be considerably higher... so better pass that there charity hat around, a time or two more... Note to Mr. Taylor... buy bigger hat!
