Oh come on Graham...the last thing we need in any email communication forum,
let alone this list is a visit, from the typo, spelling and grammar police.;
though I do see the irony in your using the observation in connection with a
challenge to the standard of education, comment; however, I don't believe
that Paul's comment actually was meant to reflect academics so much as it
was the gathering of information and ability to comprehend a certain
specific topic. Could be wrong there though.

To have added a smiley and left it at that would have been amusing, but you
had to spoil things not to mention remove the benefit of the doubt with your
additional disclaimer, Smacks a little of the give it out, but can't take it
syndrome.

Other than that I'd have found it equally as funny as I found Paul's,
"Carlton" analogy. Not side splitting by any stretch, but thoughtfully witty
and about par for our average (admittedly, some more average than others)
attempts at humour on the list. .. (Cue the math police, telling me things
are either average or not). ;-)

As a former teacher, I can happily admit to being one of the world's worst
and slowest typists (only girls learned such skills in my day) and even
guilty of the occasional spelling error; never on here, of course, where all
my mistooks are, allways clevurly planed and crafteed to annoy the FLICK out
ov those who are anal enuff to kare about such trivialities, in this realm..
;-)

Cheers,

Nigel

P.S. - Did you notice you missed a full stop, after "gaffes" in the first
quoted paragraph! Horrible boy, see me after class! ;-) .
