>>Primarily, Rick does not speak on behalf of the trust, he can't - he can
only give his opinion.<<
I'm just after a better and more accurate 'steer' on the situation from
those who are closer to the discussions.
>>Secondly, perhaps our future direction is not yet clear, it is less than 2
days since the FL advised they were unable to transfer the golden share.
Perhaps our future direction depends upon the outcome of numerous
conversations and communications that are currently on going and could be
damaged by being publicly debated in a public forum.
Your suggestions as to the fans next steps will be appreciated, I'm sure.<<
I would agree with you, though I doubt this forum would have much of an
effect.
IMO the delay is almost certainly due to admin/paperwork/bureaucracy, plus a
certain amount of due diligence required by the FL re proof of funding,
ability to complete the season etc. And the need for a junket to the Algarve
in
order to get the FL board togehether ;-)
The headaches caused by not allowing us to compete would, again IMO, be
overwhelming for the FL. The path of least resistance allows us to start the
season.
Of course, if we start the season without the GS (possible) and (in the FL's
eyes) in admin, but then exit admin later on (if KB brings in a "Matthew
Harding" investor) it would create an uneven playing field - ie we'd be
playing
a weakened team for part of the season.
It is in the FL's interests to restore the GS, and I would hope the Trust
and other fans' groups would be putting together a good enough business case
to
demonstrate that - and apply pressure to the FL to move quickly.
In particular, the FL should be urged to separate the issues surrounding
administration, HMRC etc in relation to football from the specific case of
Leeds
United. Legal proceedings dragging on past the start of the season will help
nobody.
