Lards maintained their tremendous run of form with a magnificent P3 W0 D1 L2
and finished a worthy fourth in their group. A magnificent achievement with
a squad of only 13. Their reward will be a first round tie against Liverpool
in the Plate competition on Sunday (KO 9am).

Worldnet 2007 saw the return of Maggie Barber in midfield, alongside both
Totty Twins and Waddle in goal. As a slight change this year, Alan Dellow
declared that he was not retiring, this surprised all who had heard rumours
to the contrary (from Senor Dellow) for the past three years (at least).

Festivities continued into the early hours with the traditional pub visit,
this time to the New Inn in Headingley where we shared the excitement with a
number of (alleged) stars of TV soap Emmerdale and a one-time (alleged)
Premier League footballer, Lee Sharpe.

Lards captain, Waddle invited Sharpe to turn out for the Lards on Sunday, an
altogether reasonable request IMHO, given the number of games Mr Sharpe owes
Leeds fans. Sadly the England midfielder had to decline, owing to a prior
engagement at Haydock Park. I believe that this was not a trivial excuse as
I believe it is Ladies' Day at Haydock tomorrow and Lee most generously
spent time talking to several potential (albeit fairly young) Ladies.
