Dresden is a beautiful city. It was re-built by the Russians exactly to
the original plans that were stored in one of the museums. I have never
been able to establish why the Russians went to so much trouble when
everywhere else they "russianised" the blitzed cities of the east. Closeby
Leipzig is a good example of this.

I attended the 50th anniversary of the re-build of Dresden held last
August.
Try and find time to visit the china / porcelain museums in Dresden and
Meissen. There are plenty of cheap hotels, bars and restaurants in
Pirna. You are only a couple of hours or so away from Praha which is
even cheaper and the route is full of Tesco's !!! ???

regards, Michael
