Surely we only do friendlies and tours because the club gets paid to do them 
on top of their expenses. If we organised something at Elland Rd we'd have 
to guarantee the participating clubs' fees and expenses (and who would bank 
a Bates guarantee today?) whilst taking on the risk ourselves of getting 
bums on seats.

In any case, we might have a big ground, but do we have a big enough staff 
these days to organise a 5 year olds' three-legged race?
