If they don't want to do something for Leeds United, then there are 91-odd other clubs they can support. Those who hate Bates more than they love Leeds United - and there are several on this list, to judge from the vitriol they spew - should go off and find a professionally run club with a saint as a chairman. There must be one somewhere. Chairman come and go, but Leeds United is not "rotten to the core." Never has been, never will be. <<
And I was going to apologise for my Timmy Taylor inspired rant BUT why should I apologise for the truth because the truth hurts. Leeds United IS "rotten to the core" :- It's "rotten to the core" when its supporters are claiming its ok for someone to lose their livelihood as long as we get a decent pre-season. It's "rotten to the core" when its owners threaten to liquidate it unless they get their way It's "rotten to the core" when its directors are trying to circumvent the football league rules because they don't like them. Sorry Sean but I'm not the first to claim that there is something cancerous about Leeds United. Nor am I likely or willing to do Ken Bates' job for him. Bates is in this situation purely of his own making, he must have considered that this situation was always a possibility, if he didn't he's not the astute business man he claims to be, and he must have a plan of action in place, if not he's not the man he claims he is. He can bluff and bluster and apportion blame to all and sundry but the truth is that it is all his fault. If I go over my o/d facility and the bank bounce a cheque I've issued is it :- a) the banks fault for being inflexible b) the fault of the person I made the cheque out to for cashing it so quickly c) my customers fault for not paying me quicker Or d) my fault for piss poor financial planning Ken bates would have you believe that it is all the first 3 and any other excuse you can dream up but most definitely NOT d). You wouldn't make an animal suffer like this, put it out of it's misery Cheers Paul _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
