>>What you may see as a throw away one liner is almost always part of a much
longer interview.<<

Absolutely. And a throwaway one liner that makes a good soundbite gets
promoted up the interview. So your important points get edited out and the
throwaway is broadcast to the masses. And because the remarks are coming from
the
"fans' chief" they get picked up elsewhere. Less well-informed fans then pick
up on the line and the anti-Bates campaign gathers pace, destabilising the
objective of getting back the GS.

>>Also I don't control what the questions are or what sequence they come
in.<<

Sure, but if you stick to the important message, not the "bates out" issue,
there's no chance of that sort of thing happening...

>>Is the above intended to be a 100% accurate quote ? If not, please don't
make it look like one.<<

It's pretty close to what you said at one point. It's meant illustratively
as much as anything - what not to say....

>>Are you a Trust member buy the way ? I don't have access to the up to date
membership list at this moment. <<

No I'm not. And contrary to what you might think, I'm not averse to joining:
if you look back in the list archives you'll find positive comments from me
about the trust in the past. However I do have some reservations, and I'm
still a bit confused about the trust's objectives. I note the line on the
website about buying the club has gone...

Cheers

Mark
