Frazer Richardson is hoping to return to action sooner rather than later after limping out of Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Burnley. The defender, who could be in line to make his 100th appearance for the club at Tranmere on the opening day of the season, picked up a hamstring injury during the latter stages of the Turf Moor game. "It shouldn't be too bad," said Frazer. "I'm not sure exactly what it is yet, but I had an X-ray on Monday. "It actually started a week ago, and I was struggling before the game on Saturday, but thought we'd give it a go." Frazer, who along with Eddie Lewis (ankle) and Leon Constantine (ankle) is unlikely to feature at Darlington on Tuesday night, has enjoyed the demanding pre-season campaign. "It's been really difficult in terms of hard work, but the lads have been willing to put in the hard work and will benefit," he said. "It's been one of the toughest and will stand us in good stead. "We're developing a great team spirit as well. We need to be a close knit team to take us forward to where we want to be." Assistant boss Gus Poyet expressed his frustration after Saturday's defeat, when missed chances proved crucial in the game. It was a similar story after the games against Liberec and Cottbus but, like Gus, Frazer is confident that United are heading towards the League One campaign on the right track and that the goals will come. "We had chances to win on Saturday - we had maybe five one on ones - and we've had the chances in other games as well," he added. "I'm sure they will come. As long as the strikers carry on getting in the positions, we'll score goals." _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
