Stoke are saying they have signed him, so he's gone now anyway... Looks like we are playing with the Double Donkey Formation next season

Terry, I didn't talk about any other players in my posting because it was in response to someone else saying that Cresswell could be a "vital" player for us next season (assuming we have one)... And although I carefully avoided saying that we went down purely because of him missing that one chance, it is only accurate to say that if he had put that header away we would probably have beaten Ipswich and therefore probably have stayed up - and he would be a hero. I thought at the time it was a turning point of the game, and sadly that was borne out to the nth degree. Notwithstanding all that, I agree wholeheartedly with your penultimate sentence. -----Original Message----- F'kin hell, that's a bit harsh. What about chances missed by Healey, Blake, the awful Kandol, mistakes by Richardson when he cocked up for the second goal against Sheffield Wednesday and others too numerous to mention throughout the season. I firmly believe that if Cresswell hadn't been injured when he was the season before last we would have beaten Sheffield United to the second promotion spot and would not have suffered the ignomy of the play-off final and all that's followed since. It's only an opinion of course and we'll never know, but to say we went down because of him missing one chance is too much. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
