My take: -- HMRC did everything they could to help us out over the last few years. -- HMRC had been working closely with, and been very reasonable in letting LUFC delay payments. -- Ken Bates decided to put (for no reason other than to clear debts) us into admin. The fact that most of our "debt" is with Astor should be noted here. We didn't need to go into admin at all. -- HMRC have quite rightly taken the hump, and now want paying back in full, after their previous efforts to help out were thrown back in theor face with a shitty 1p in the pound offer (initially).
Anyway, appeal will reduce points. Looks like LUFC have played on the emotional heartstrings of the football league and the gamble will pay off. I enjoyed the Wigan game on Saturday, onwards and upwards, perhaps.
