So 15 minutes late, settling in to game on a beautiful sunny day in the Midlands and Beckford from the inside right lays the ball into Kandol on the edge of the box who fires across goal and in off the far post. Perfect timing.
Reminds me of going to the FA Cup SF 2nd replay v Man Utd at Burnden Park in 1970..........heavy traffic delayed the Pyne's White Coach from Harrogate and we got in late. I remember running up a huge bank of steps to get to the top of a massive terrace behind the goal...........got to the top and it was absolutely jam-packed with huge blokes. I jumped up to try to get a view of the pitch and, timing my jump to perfection, saw Billy crack the ball into the net right in front of me! This after 2x 90 miins + 30 mins extra time with no goal;s so far in the tie. At first I thought I must still be watching the warmup, but the huge roar soon disabused me of that notion.
