Does anyone know how how Hartelpool failed to score yesterday? They threw everything at us especially second half, they did everything except score. I didn't think we played that well at all. Ankergren was easily MOM for me.
Hartlepool controlled the game especially second half. Their player with red boots (no7 I think?) was pretty good and was trouble for our defence. We gave the ball away too much, did a lot of hoofing it up the pitch, and were second to most things in the air. Our strikers did good getting the goals, and Beckfords lob was sublime. Apart from the goals though it was like watching two Jimmy Floyds on the pitch sitting around waiting for the ball. Carole got into some great positions and nobody passed him the ball. Happened quite a few times, which was annoying as we should be getting it out to him more and making use of his pace and skill. Ankergren 11 Beckford 9 for the goal otherwise only a 7 overall Kandol 8 for his goal otherwise a 7 overal Hughes 7 Richardson 7 Carole 6 would have been a lot higher if others had bother to pass him the ball more often esp when he was wide open on the left. Can't be bothered rating the rest wasn't too impressed with the performance, but its still another win, and a win when we didn't play that well against a good L1 team, so you can't argue with that. Another 3 points and that's all that matters. Two more wins and we could be 10th in the league providing all the other teams on 6 points and below lose. We need to carry this 100% run on for another 4 or 5 games as there will come a time this season when we have a bad spell. COME ON LEEDS!
