I am a very proud season ticket holder and founder member of the Bramley
Buffaloes. I used to alternate between Elland Road and Barley Mow as a
seven year old (in an age before most of you were even a twinkle in your
grand dad's eye). Anyone know what the Buff's motto is and where it
came from? (Bloke not allowed to answer)

Bramley duly collected the League Leaders shield and displayed some of
the ruthless form they believe they will need if they are to
successfully defend their title in the Grand Final at Headingley next month.

A total of 18 tries swamped the inexperienced Storm who ended their
campaign desperately frustrated, losing men to the sin bin on three
separate occasions in the second period as a result.

Paul Drake led the rout for the Buffaloes, finishing with 40 points from
a try double and 16 successful conversions and there were hat tricks for
winger Nicky Fontaine and loose forward Jon Nicholls.

He opened the barrage in the third minute with a drive from close range,
Simon Speight adding a second score soon after after a fine passing move.

Player/coach Rob Jones kicked a penalty for the Storm in the 18th minute
and there was little indication at 10-2 of what was to come.

Scott Pendlebury's 30 metre arching run a minute later put the Buffaloes
in control and virtually every set thereafter in the first half, they
posted points.

Fontaine's pace brought him two in four minutes; Bradley Asquith backed
up a break from the impressive Matt Hayes; Graham Harrison and Nicholls
both crossing before the interval to make it 44-2.

There was no let up for the beleaguered hosts at the start of the second
half as Bramley added four tries in an astonishing five minute spell
from the kick off.

Shaun Gilmour and Nicholls supported breaks by Matt Mulholland, Nick
Walker and Mark Butterill with a surging drive all claiming touchdowns.

Drake posted two in six minutes against a short handed defence, Alan
White having been sin binned for a professional foul and Ryan Bradley
for dissent and Fontaine again supported well for his third.

With Jones becoming the third Gateshead player to initially see yellow -
and ultimately red - for dissent, the Bramley tries kept coming; Speight
with his second, Walker again and Webb completing the mauling.
