Vinny was a strange cookie. He came with a reputation as a hard tackler and not much of a footballer. I actually found him to be a better footballer than most people thought but he lacked pace and acceleration which made him a relatively poor covering / tackling player. Surprising but true. In truth he wasn't up to much and was carried by the brilliance around him - Strachan . Speed and co. I'll never forget his debut though at home to Boro when he came running on like a madman with 5 mins to go when it was 1-1. We won 2-1.
