I deliberately did not mention the Catholic religion which is not only totally corrupt but responsible for more deaths on the planet than probably any other cause. And nothings changed except that countries like Spain seem to be ignoring it totally. If you consider that these things develop and evolve and you see what what I am getting at. But the pace of evolution with the modern world is increasing and you will get fundamentalist puritanical types as religions hold onto the past. People will always find examples that prove the rule. The saudi king visit for example...widely condemned and protestested agaimst but he is actually a moderniser. For example since he has been in power officially and as caretaker manager saudi arabia is building more than 100 colleges for women... Unthinkable in previous years... And of course they are very rich.
