Unsurprisingly loads of police but no sign of hassle - we managed to drive
our minibus virtually to the turnstile without being stopped.
We got off to a cracking start with Kandol getting free down the left and
running in on goal - keeper half-stopped the initial shot but it ran free for
Tresor to knock into an empty net.
For twenty minutes or so we were well on top and looked like scoring more,
as they didn't seem to be able to handle Beckford and Kandol, then we lost the
plot. After ten minutes of us aimlessly whacking the ball nowhere, Bournemouth
(including sicknote himself) realised they were in with a chance and put us
under a fair bit of pressure for the next 15 minutes, Clapham got roasted down
the left a couple of times - equalising with a shot from outside the area.
Second half we started a bit more in control and scored a gem of a goal with
Kandol controlling the ball on the wing, playing a one-two then curling it
first time into the far corner. However again we seemed unable to hold onto
the ball and kept the Cherries involved. After a Bournemouth striker got a
straight red, i assume for a retaliatory elbow on Heath, as they got the
free-kick - we should have cruised the win. But we were still pretty average
and though they didn't create much clearcut, the ball flew around our box
enough to have us worried.
We had a few 2 on 2s on the break that we failed to do much with but it was
more relief than anything when Kandol squeezed a near post header under the
keeper to finish the game.
Not a great performance but yet again we'll take the win we barely deserved.

Fraser 7 - One great saving tackle 2nd half
Rui 6 - Below par
Heath 6 - Lump
Clapham 6 - Struggled when they had 11
Prutton 7 - Has played better though
Douglas 6 - Mix of sensible play and random passing
Hughes 5 - Poor
Carole 7 - Great goal - little else
Beckford 7 - Constant threat but didn't really deliver
Kandol 8 - Can't argue with 2 goals
Weston and De Costa came on at the end - Da Costa seems unable to run in a
straight line or pass the ball with the instep - all fancy flicks, ok when you
are 3-1 up but...
Kept behind for a bit after - so the police could show us their new police
dogs
