Leeds United skipper Alan Thompson is in line to return to the side against Swindon on Saturday after making a successful comeback from injury in the reserves.
Thompson played the full 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw at Scunthorpe and could be back in the frame for the visit of the Robins. Fellow midfielder Shaun Derry also played the full game as he steps up his recovery from a heel problem. Stand-in skipper Jonathan Douglas, who was due to link up with the Republic of Ireland squad this week, has pulled out after picking up a knock in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with Bury on Tuesday. Boss Dennis Wise is already resigned to being without the former Blackburn player for Saturday's game while the Irishman will also miss the FA Cup first round replay with Hereford due to suspension. Andrew Hughes is making progress ahead of the visit of the Robins while Radostin Kishishev is also pushing to be fit for the weekend. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
