hope DW does not take the easy option with Clapham going and put Hughes in at
left back as he has done on occasion to try and accommodate everyone. Hughes is
wasted there, he is shaky and we would miss his drive in centre midfield, plus
I reckon Parker has done enough in the various cup games against lower Division
teams to warrant being given a chance. The Hughes to left back would not
surprise me though with him having to fight with Thommo, Kissi and Douglas for
the centre midfield berth.
Hughes reminds me a bit of the early Derry - an experienced pro who has been
around a bit and found himself at the mighty Leeds United and determined to
enjoy every minute of it. (Constantine is of the same ilk - loved his kiss the
ER turf celebration after his goal v Bury)

  Dave

Hughes - not quite the all-action man yesterday but probably not back to
peak fitness. I really like this guy. He makes mistakes but never hides or
shirks and seems proud to wear the shirt and puts the tackles in and does
the runs. My kind of player 7
