The most experienced reserve line-up in recent seasons is set to face Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road on Wednesday (7pm).
With a 10-day gap on the first team fixture list, manager Dennis Wise is using the reserve game as an opportunity for a number of his first team squad to gain some valuable match practice. Radostin Kishishev will make his first start since returning on loan, and Tore Andre Flo will start his first game for the club since January. Alan Thompson continues his comeback from injury, and Mark De Vries and Ian Westlake are also included. Paul Huntington, Ben Parker, Filipe Da Costa, Curtis Weston and Simon Madden are also set to feature in a game which will be shown live on LUTV. Goalkeeper Jonathan Lund, making his first start of the season, is the only player in the 11 not to have featured for the first team this term. "We've got a lot of seniors in the game who will want to get their fitness levels up ahead of Christmas," said reserve team boss Neil Thompson. "There's no senior game until next Tuesday so this is an opportunity for some of them to play. "It gives the likes of Tore, De Vries, Thommo, Kish, Curtis, Ben, and Westy the chance to play some football. "You can prepare all you like, but there's nothing like playing games to get you ready for games." United: Lund, Madden, Huntington, Parker, Westlake, Weston, Thompson, Kishishev, Da Costa, De Vries, Flo. Subs: Bayly, Edwards, Rothery, Elliott, Fisher. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
