Leeds line up Stoke star Sweeney Sweeney played under Wise when he was manager of Millwall Leeds boss Dennis Wise has revealed that he is on the verge of signing Stoke midfielder Peter Sweeney. The Scot, 23, is out of favour at Stoke, where he has not played for the first team since October, and recently had a loan spell at Walsall.
"I've got Peter, but he's got to have a medical. I know him from Millwall and he can play on the left or in the middle," Wise explained. Wise also admitted his interest in Hull defender Damian Delaney, 26. Since the reopening of the transfer window, Leeds have signed HJK Helsinki winger Sebastian Sorsa on a free transfer, and Birmingham midfielder Neil Kilkenny on loan with a view to a permanent move. Kilkenny made his debut in Saturday's 3-0 win against Northampton.
