Delete the F***er and install Firefox! But if you *must* have IE then I rather think (although I admit to being a tad weak on this one) you might be best re-installing over the top, and if that doesn't work then restore the computer back to before you tried to upgrade (at least from there you can try again on a clean slate if necessary)
