I thought that Leeds played very well last night - infinitely better
than the Tranmere game - the only similarity between the two was the
colour of the shirt!

I can't recall if Forest even had a shot at goal in the first half,
certainly another guy just behind me said the same thing in the second
half after a Forest shot, that he thought it was their first. I was very
confident after the first half, but, as has happened many times, the
half time break changes things. In the second half Forest came into the
game much more, but I still thought that for us to go a goal down was
undeserved. Shortly after the forest goal came the most intense period
of the game, when the fans almost willed another goal from Leeds - this
lead to one of the best goal line headed clearances I have even seen,
dunno which Forest player it was, but he earned his wages last night! At
the other end, not to be outdone Casper earned his money too with a
spectacular save, from what looked (from the distance of the Kop) to be
a certain goal.

All in all I thought the game was dominated by Leeds and I was
particularly pleased with the performances by Prutton (why did he come
off? Everything seemed to stem from him up to that point) - Kenton and
(sorry Paul), Kandol. Flo just does not do it for me, Kandol looked to
work hard and played a good game it seemed to me. The one disappointment
for me was...... Beckford! Where was he last night? I saw a chap with
the number 9 on his shirt, but it didn't seem to be the Beckford I had
seen on TV and heard so much about - was this like one of those tribute
bands? Looks like 'em, sounds a bit like 'em, but it isn't the
same...... However the player in the No 9 shirt was trying as was the
whole team - I reckon that if they play like this for the rest of the
season, then we still have a chance of the play offs, and if we get the
points back (or even "some" of them) then we can still make auto
promotion.

The only and main blot on last night was the abysmal referee - he was so
bad I even called in to speak to Eddie Gray on Radio Leeds about it - I
got through and said what I thought about the ref (toned down for the
radio of course!) but Eddie disagreed with me - we ended up agreeing to
disagree - he felt that the 2 hand ball efforts were only Maybe's and
"anyway he gave us a spot kick which wasn't a penalty to even things up"
(Eddie's words) Huh?? THAT IS NOT THE REFEREES JOB, his job is apply the
laws of the game fairly to both sides - which he patently obviously
didn't do last night. As I said to Eddie, if the ref had awarded the 2
blatant penalties we should have got then we may well have been 2-0
ahead, and I would argue that Forest may not have then got into the game
at all, and the ref would not have felt the need to "even things up"
(subsequent callers to the programme said that our penalty was correct
as there was huge shirt pulling going on -I didn't see it myself, but I
trust them as they were nearer than I was) This ref should be dropped
from the league lists if this is his standard of officiating, it was
appalling.

Other than the Bastard in the black, I enjoyed last night a great deal
and felt that we have a good future if this is the way that Macca plans
to have his teams playing

I'll leave actual match reports and player scores to others - but this
was my personal view of last night

Oh I dunno
I thought we played pretty well tonight
Got the ball down and passed it
Kandol is still sh*t but that's not Macca's fault
Neither is it his fault that he's got a squad of Lickle Den's buddies
and yes men rather than championship quality players who answered back
instead of sucking up
Anyone who wants an inside track on life under Den could do worse than
to have a chat with Doncaster's keeper on Satdi
Cheers
Paul
