When we went to play offs last time I felt that the whole future of the club
depended on the result and when it did not go our way (understatement of the
decade !) we were plunged into total chaos and financial meltdown - hence the
25 point deduction and 3rd Division football.
This time , whilst I hope so much to win - I don't feel that it is anything
like as important to the club. If we fail then we will ,I am 100% sure, go up
as Champions next season, We owe no money (except Bates) and are on even keel
with a young enthusiastic and skillful squad. The fan base has remained loyal
and we must be raking in the cash. Macca will not lose any players he wants to
keep (not even Beckford) and will jettison what he regards as dead wood - Heath
(gone) Weston, Westlake, Ameobi,Thompson, Kenton (won't renew loan) and a
couple of others. He will make a couple of astute signings - a winger for one -
players at this level and Champs level will fall over themselves to come here
,and so playing an enjoyable to watch brand of football we will stride
majestically through the season.
Like I say not sure if wishful thinking or just trying to play down Sunday
Dave
