Couldn't agree more Ted, (that's why I put a smiley in) this season has seen a revival of interest in events on the pitch, which given the shite going on off the pitch for the past five years has been like a breathe of fresh air. I mean we now even have players who we consider half decent and even worthy of some respect (Caspar in the first ten munutes at Wembley - excellent) As for Glory Hunters, what people need to recognise is that Leeds as a club may have had its ups and downs this past few years - and you've got to admit that the various owners and the footballing authorities have not exactly gone out of their way to encourage support (high prices, arcane membership schemes, poor management of major events etc etc etc...). Yet it still remains a fact that in the hearts of a good 50,000 willing fans and probably 5 times as many armchair fans there is a special gene that means you are Leeds! On Sunday I was driving my daughter back to Aberdeen for a week that includes a driving test, a major exam, a big medical appointment and the end of a very difficult academic year. She was L plated up and driving and we were both glued to the radio commentary. Older listers will know that Alice is 100% Leeds, born at Jimmy's raised on Sgt Wilko views formed on tour in Europe. The pair of us were gutted by the end of the match but found no trouble in singing along with the fans on the radio. In the fifteen minutes post match I had a flood of text messages and phone calls from friends family and mates from the IFA. they all knew that this was the big match this weekend. I'm sorry Hull, Bristol, Stockport etc.. but you are also rans, which shopuld make Donny feel even better about what to them will probabaly be their most famous victory of all time. It's what being Leeds is all about - if you had been on Jupiter last Sunday afternoon you'd have had the space pod trannie tuned in to the match. And people who know you are Leeds seem to understand: I was speaking to the factor at Mo Al Fayed's estate up the road yesterday and the first thing he said was "I bet you're not best pleased with Sunday's result then". Which is a change from him saying "Git off Er My Laaaarnd". Best match ever? That Liverpool Leeds match .................. betty _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
