The level of reffing here in the States is shocking.? Absolutely shocking.

If Refs want to be treated with more respect all they have to? do is raise
their game.

Not denying that Brian is right. My response was slightly tongue in cheek.

BUT...in a world when referees get shat upon from a great height by anyone
and everyone for being human, as the PROTL he understands more than any of
us how difficult it is for the referee to do their job. Just for the record,
I too was a ref (in the states) for ten years and also used to train & coach
young referees. When I came back to this country, I considered carrying it
on - until I witnessed a couple of Sunday league games and decided that was
one aggravation I could do without.

The sooner they clamp down on players who show dissent to the ref (starting
at the very top, not the bottom), and give the ref the 21st century tools
available to assist them with their job, the better.

For those who may not be familiar with the rules I mentioned, here they
are:-

Rule 1. The referee is always correct.
Rule 2. If the referee is wrong, rule number 1 applies.

Those of you who are married can substitute referee for
Husband/wife/girlfriend/etc.

cheers,

Andy C
