I suppose we're all a bit down-hearted about today's defeat. It had to
happen sooner or later - although Peterborough, a strange choice! I had my
money on Hereford last week , but I was wrong! I didn't see the game today,
only guessing that we were beaten by a better team on the day, had one of
"those days" where things didn't fall for us, or we were poor - or perhaps
any combination of these three factors.
It matters not, we will lose some games. Take heart in the fact that when we
won the final "First Division" title in 1992 I think it was, we lost 4 games
(all away) to QPR, Palace, Man City and Oldham - not exactly big guns at the
time (with respect!) so an away defeat at Peterborough (or anywhere else for
that matter) is no big deal whether we were poor or they were great. It
offers some contrast to our great recent form and will keep us humble -
won't it? Other results could have been a lot less kind than they were so I
don't feel too bad. Mind you, we could have been top for a few hours had we
won...sob!
