Just watched interviews with Macca and Sean Harvey. We will be trying to bring
in new players in Jan window with a few fringe (already out on loan) players
possibly leaving. Kept saying that we do not need to sell so only selling those
who Macca wants out.
Macca spoke very highly of Mansour Assoumani - he was recommended by good judge
of player - Macca sees him as a centre half not a right back and describes him
as quick and aggressive - something we are badly in need of. Reading between
the lines he also reckons that Huntingtons problems are all in his mind (Derek
Parlane anyone ?) and that although he is back in training he needs to have
confidence in his supposed injury.
Gave a wry smile about Christie not turning up to training today due to illness.
He is very upset with the way that McDonald was approached by Blackburn and
says he knows things that are not in public domain - not a happy bunny! We will
not be bringing a new coach in at this stage.
Both Macca and Harvey gave it the old "keep the faith" speech praising the
passion and size of our support. Both stressed the fact that less than half the
league season had gone and so was a very long way to go and everyone would have
a bad run ours was just about to come to an end and automatic promotion was
still very much on the cards.
While on LUTV I also watched the reserve highlights and Sweeney was brilliant,
so I would not be too surprised to see him in squad on Saturday - but that is
just me based on 15mins of highlights !!
