to those who do not subscirbie (why not ??!!) here is what Ken had to say
At MK Dons they were increasingly concerned with the situation - dropped from
2nd to 9th in a couple of months. felt had to act. Met Macca on Sunday morning
and parted as amicabilly as poss in the circs. Have to give him credit with the
work with youngsters.
We have a good squad which if motivated and confident can still be promoted.
Wanted to do it now to give new manager 10 days and 2 games before transfer
window to asssess players and decide with Williams who has options for him
(wahtever that means) as to who if anyone we bring in and get rid of.
For Larry instead of "shut that door" it will be "close that back four"
McDonald left us for Blackburn in same circs as SG left Blackpool but we not
making song and dance.
Facts are we went to Bpool and asked to speak to SG - they refused permission -
end of story BUT they went and put it on their website and told SG about the
approach. He jumped at chance. They put it in public domain we all private as
usual. SG then went to see Oystein and asked to chance to join us - they said
no so after row he resigned and became a free agent so we offered him the job.
SG has met players and is going to members party tonight.
Has good credentials and knows this level of football.
Fans suggested other names eg George Graham - he left cos wife would not leave
Londion, Gus Poyet - wife refused to leave Essex and commute too much for him -
need someone committed to Leeds.
Curbishley would him or his ilk come for wages we can now offer as 3rd Div club
? Plus no expereicne at this level.
SG has stepped down a league and put his reputation on the line.
Good personality
Yorkshire man for a Yorkshire tream - knows all about Leeds.
Been trying all day to talk to Oystein but he refusing - would not speak to
Harvey - his phone on answerphone. Have even tried official club phone and
texting him but he not speaking to us - we tried our best and up to them if
they take it further nothing more we could do
Will be baptism of fire for SG on Friday with 34,000 fans - bit different form
being beside the seaside
Dave (with apologies for typing but doing as Bates talking)
