Just seen the highlights on LUTV and he took his 2 goals well. First he
intercepted it 20yds out and ran at the defenders beating a couple and slotting
it home well - excellant goal. He was very involved (at least seemed to be in
the 13mins they showed) putting in a nice few passes as well as missing out on
a one-on-one and having two other attempts, then towards the end he robbed
their player just inside the centre circle and ran the half of the pitch not
quite having the pace to get away from the defender (but it is slower running
with the ball) - he showed enough strength to hold him off. He then drew the
keeper and went round him and put it in - another good goal. He certainly looks
to have something about him but it remains to be seen if he has enough at a
higher level in the first team. Grayson did say he was very pleased with him
and that he was "due to his desire and eagerness" ahead of schdule, the idea
had been to have him for 2 months and
then send him out on loan, but because of injuires and suspensions he had been
thrown in the deep end.
It was a very inexperienced Leeds side with only Sheehan , Lubo and Prutton
regular first team squad members ) - Prutts had one shot from distance and was
involved in a nice move for the 3rd goal - including a back heel inside the
area to the lad who scored (Cartman) but the fact he was the only one playing
for the reserves out of himself, Kilkenny and Johnson may mean he will not be
in the squad on Saturday ?
Also on LUTV Grayson said he had been tryng to bring in a right back but
without success - Frazer has had another set back. Also Parker was now in
possession of the left back spot and was coming back into a better team and
more confident defence thanks to Dickinson. If Parker was not up to it he
(Grayson) has the names of 3 other left backs all wanting to play for us - did
not sound good for Sheehan (or White although he is coming back from injury so
maybe too soon for Grayson to make a decision on him)
Really looking forward to Scunthorpe game now - it can't come quick enough, it
will not make or break our season as such but it is a massive game
Dave
