Barrera literally had blood spitting out of a cut on his head down into his eyes - he couldn't see a thing but still managed another 4 rounds without being troubled by Khan. Sky were creaming themselves over how Khan had taught Barrera a lesson - nothing could be further from the truth. Yes he was quicker and flashier in those opening rounds but you'd expect that from a 22 year olds against a 35 year old. I was looking forward to the later rounds 'cos you just knew that Barrera would eventually nail him, infortuntaley the cut didn't allow that. A rematch should be arranged later this year. It was interesting to see how many Brits were wearing Sombreros and supporting Barrera. Since his knowckdown I don't think the British public believe in Khan and until he does 12 rounds with someone like Barrera I won't be convinced either. Also I don't like him - just got one of those faces. <<<Rich, a lot of people don't like him because he's Asian/Muslim. This has helped him no doubt, he has a large Asian/Muslim following - in that he has had a following to sell tickets. A mate of a mate has turned pro recently and is on his 4th or 5th fight - obviously he is no Olympian but there are about 10-20 of us that would be considered a 'following' by way of comparison. A lot more people don't like him because he's been overhyped - essentially ordained since winning the silver medal at the Olypmics - and has had a lot of money and attention thrown at him and been on either ITV or, ludicrously, pay-per-view?!?
I wouldn't have paid the £15 ordinarily, I think Sky have ruined boxing and the fight isn't worth it* and I don't want to line Khan/Warren's pockets but 6 people were round my house and 5 of them wanted to watch him fight as they 'know' him. *On that, one is a chinny overmatched lightweight and the other is a former bantam, super bantam and featherweight legend but that's where it ends, he's 2 weights and 3 years past anything resembling a prime. Audley Harrison was another whose walk didn't match the talk - you'll also see that the only Olympian making his Pro debut to be loudly! booed by all and sundry was DeGale, another mouthy c#nt - and none of the 2 on either the same night, or 2 in recent weeks. Sky's hyperbole is unforgivable but they agreed to put him on PPV. So have to do it. They can only achieve this with big fights - he is unable to do this, so they have to make do with big names, however faded. The size differential was too big and he would always have struggled and saying that when he connected in the 3rd, Khan sh|t himself. I thought MAB was looking for a way out in the 3rd (I think) when the Doc had a look - I had sound off but wasn't too sure what was being said but body language and MAB's actions - pawing at cut to make it bleed looked like he was after a technical decision (4th round head cuts [unintentional] go to cards or are ruled as a NC under WBC but not sure what 'rules' were in force on Sat) Khan has only fought blown up feathers and super feathers - worst was Steffy bull, a career super feather who'd been retired for a year or so! - he got brutally Ko'd and exposed by the first live lightweight he'd fought. The warnign signs were there, he's been down and troubled by loads of non punching non lightweights. I don't know that Roach can add much more than keeping his hands up. In any case - my £15 was well spent, I got to see 2 more of Fraud Enzo's camp get exposed again. Rant over.
