The man was lucky to get the job and on paper he did quite well after brian
robsons failure

Why the hell would he resign? Bit of bad luck narrow though deserved defeat in
the final.

He won't get a job like that again and he will be back at luton if they would
have him...

... Unless he didn't want to be found out

>From BLADES MAD:

United of course missed a great opportunity to be in the top flight next
season, and this led to Kevin Blackwell confessing he may not be at the club
much longer. The Sun are reporting that the former Leeds boss could rip up
his contract at Bramall Lane.

A club insider speaking in The Sun said: "The timing was awful. The players
were on the floor after a narrow defeat in a huge game and were amazed at
his attitude. Kevin told them that loads of them would be getting the bullet
to trim costs because they face a third season in the Championship. It
hasn't gone down well.

"He might as well have been reading the local traffic news instead of
talking to some pretty disappointed players who had given everything."

Rumours spreading around on internet are suggesting that the 50-year-old
will resign in the next couple of days, and Gary Speed will be installed as
manager. These rumours also suggest that there will be a press conference in
the next few days to confirm Blackwell's resignation.
