I'll have a stab, though I'm not very good at them ...and I arrived 20
minutes late because I had to go back and get my ticket - stuck in a
traffic jam in the Dartford tunnel is not the best place to realise this.

So I missed two disallowed goals, one of which apparently shouldn't have
been.

The rest of the first half was pretty tame. We seemed to favour route
one, with an apparent "who can get it the highest" competition in
progress. Eerily, the Ref booked our two goalscorers in the first half -
and only them.

The second half started well. Someone got down to the Colchester end and
after a bit of a tussle the Ref gave a handball. From the resulting free
kick Johnson headed in.

This spurred Colchester on and they had the better of the next 10 mins
until they scored from what looked a dubious penalty. Hughes seemed
particularly panicked by this, and took to hoofing the ball away at the
first opportunity.

Six minutes after that, some suicidal defending delivered the ball the
Beckford's feet for a simple tap-in.

Colchester stepped up their fouls, but it didn't help much. Prutton came
on to chants of "You're not Jesus any more", with Snodgrass going off.
Becchio missed a difficult chance. Rui went off injured, replaced by
Lubo - though I think at the time everyone thought it was because we
weren't getting the headers at the back.

Enoch came on for Becchio and after bulldozing through two fouls to go
one-on-one with the keeper, was called back by the Ref for no apparent
reason. After 4 minutes extra time, we'd won.

A side-note: The Colchester screen showed both our goals were sponsored
by the local barbers - hit them up as thanks if you're in town.
