Anyone who does anything recommended by that rag wants their heads looking at.

I like many here have had friends & relatives who have fought and died in this country's past armed conflicts. I also understand what Rob meant though, I don't need a special day to remember those I owe my current level of freedoms to, I've had the horrors relayed to me as a lad by people who were there. I can also understand why some people may need a specific time in the calendar to come together to remember.

It's the so called newspapers that are sullying the occasion by twisting stories out of remembrance day to sell their poorly assembled rags. People shouldn't be berated into doing something a certain way because someone else thinks their way is the right way, or because it's the way a majority do something. I don't feel I need to join in the remembrance day activities to show my respects to friends I have known, and those I have never known who died in service. It doesn't mean I don't respect the efforts & sacrifice any more or any less than the next person, I just do it in my own way.

I've always questioned why there needs to be a poppy appeal at all, this should all be paid for by the state and not rely on charitable donations by the public. While I'm on my soap box, the same can be said for the RNLI.

LU bit, How did listers find the live feed from Oldham? Mine was ok in the first half but second half it kept jumping forward 30 seconds, not a bad thing when you're 1 up away at that godforsaken windswept shit hole in Oldham.
