Very good points. I don't see us speeding out of Div2, even if we get there, which as a lifelong miserablist I won't believe until 1) the points are in the bag and 2) the Football League have not docked us 20 points for any ownership issues. All the recent Beckford stuff underlines how high some of our standards are (probably ridiculously I concede), and how low others have had to lower them in the name of watching LUFC. 2 or 3 years in the Championship and building a team is the only way forward IMHO - unless some big money comes in from Saudi or somewhere, then we need to base our progression on sound management (business and football) and developing young, and hopefully some, local talent. Do I look forward to seeing us in the Prem - not really, because it's years away and no matter how hard I try to ignore the past, the experience of the top league, for me at least, will probably always be better than now. This isn't just about the team, or the spoilt nancies on the pitch, but the crowd, standing up, the whole culture of football and it's place in society pre 1992. Now, it's just a bunch of middle-class middle-aged fops booing their team after 25 minutes without scoring, stewarding a la Hitler, owners who you'd gladly see up against a wall - it's more pantomime than football these days.
