In a fit of madness I decided to go to last night's match at ER. Far from being surprised or dissapointed I left feeling deflated. A crowd more obsessed with shouting about Manchester United than getting behind the team didn'y help. Neither did a team who had countless chances to finish off this mundane game but only managed to score twice. Grayson needsto explain to his team what clinical means. There is clearly an element of talent there but it needs sharpening at the pointy end.
As for visiting Elland Road, it was a turgid experience heightened only by being in the pub pre match with listers and assorted pals from Leeds. Nice touch from Lid getting me a ticket in the name of some random bloke so Bates' horror system is unaware of my presence :-). Biggest laugh of the night? the female steward screeching at the kop to sit down who immediately stood up. The sooner the safe standing capaign gets organised properly the better, sitting down in a stadium that is only a quarter full for safety reasons is bollocks. And Carlisle is only 5 hours south of home...........................
