Did anyone see Grayson on the football league show last night? I'm a great one for reading body language, and when asked about Burnley he refused to look the interviewer in the eye. I do hope he was just distracted by something and not lieing.
Come to think of it, I don't think he denied it. Just said that he's the manager of Leeds and you can't stop speculation. Now I'm worried. Make no mistake we were woeful from start to finish and did not deserve anything from this game, so it was a point gained even if it was against the next to bottom team. Perhaps we scored too soon - a speculative shot from Howson somehow eluding the keeper on 4 mins led us all, players included, to think that this was one of those games that all you had to do was turn up (in fairness givent he weather etc with over 24k the fans certainly did turn up - shame we were so very very quiet) We were totally overrun and overshadowed in midfield and looked shaky at the back - they hit the post, had a few close efforts plus the goal and a most bizzare corner that we all left thinking it was going out to see it roll right across the goal and hit the far post before being cleared - very strange. I see Rich gave them all 10 last week (bar Becchio with 9) - well yesterday, 5s across the board would be more like it - under par all over the place. As for Beckford if that was to be his last game in a Leeds shirt it was one that will not linger long in the memory, despite the backing of the crowd (no boos that I heard nor chants agaisnt him) he was largely annonymous and fluffed his one chance being crowded out by 2 defenders. Personally I still want him to stay but wish him well and 'thanks for the memories' if he does go (though he will be very hard indeed to replace) For once even Grayson failed to get it right and his usually inspried substitutions made no difference - White and Grella never touched it and Gradel seemed to believe his own hype and acted like he was a one man team and never passing the ball. In the past we have lost games when we played so badly so one point is not to be criticised too much - especially since it was in effect our game in hand on Charlton and we are now 9 points clear of promotion with a vastly superior goal difference. We had a few hiccups at home after the scouse game - losing first points v Carlisle and then Charlton so it is way to soon to worry but yesterday was a big dissappointment and a real come down but overall things are still very good at ER Dave _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
