I think you are over-estimating the difference in performance level.

We played miles better against Man U and Tottenham (last 70 mins) than we have
at any point this season, Bristol Rovers excepted.

We werent that bad against Wycombe and Exeter. Wycombe played better than we
had any right to expect and Exeter became a lottery on a flooded pitch. As an
example we were probably worse against Brentford and Kettering, before the cup
run. We've had plenty of games earlier in the season where we've been pretty
average and sneaked it late on.

Reality is that recently we've had our luck in the Cup games.

Having said that i do understand the general point that promotion has to be a
priority but its impossible as a football fan to stand there watching and not
want your team to win - or equalise. Although i'd admit i had more faith in
Dave Woolmer standing next to me scoring a penalty than Beckford yesterday (and
any Lards know how unlikely that is).

But why did we drop points against relegation threatened teams?

Knackered? Big time charlie attitude? Just flat after euphoria? Bad luck? Or
coincidence?

The pre man u leeds team would have won those games.

No, Matt - playing poorly at places like Brentford and Exeter and home to
Wycombe has cost us 7-8 points - how we performed v MU & Spurs has nothing to
do with it.

Since when were we guaranteed to win the games we have dropped points in ?

It's a long season, we are having a minor blip in the League whereas Norwich
are flying - that could easily change.

Our performances v MU & Spurs demonstrate we are the best team in this league,
but we have to prove that over the course of the season, and a couple of extra
Cup games where we over-perform will be no sort of an excuse if we don't do
that.
