The "social network site" as described below is actually called "freecycle"
each area that
runs a site, for instance, my local site is called "Scarborough-Freecycle".
Members 'offer' almost
anything from garden sheds to a set of egg cups with everything else in
between. You can post for
'wanted' stuff also, anything, exercise machines to Bing Crosby LP's, it's
unbelievable what people
ask for and get. After offering an item you have to decide who to give it to
and make arrangements for the
taker to collect the item. This is the "big" problem, I joined to give a load
of stuff away but I was
warned off. Do you want any Tom Dick or Harry coming on your property, seeing
how you live and
what you have. I live in a very remote place so I couldn't risk dodgey
characters wandering around my
place visiting me. I suppose you could deliver but then it would be easier and
cheaper to chuck the stuff away.
