Leeds United fans organise charity ball
Published Date: 22 January 2010
A duo devoted to Leeds United are kicking off a fundraising bid with a
charity ball at Elland Road.
Friends Michelle France and Kathy Darley can be spotted on the terraces
at most home games cheering on The Whites, regularly travelling around
the country to support the team.
In August, they will be going a bit further afield, climbing Mount
Kilimanjaro to raise money for cancer patients – but first they are
inviting people to support an evening of food and music at the Leeds
United stadium on Saturday, February 27.
Michelle, a teacher at Swinnow Primary School, Bramley, said: "Kathy's
dad died last year of prostate cancer and we wanted to do something in
his memory so we hope as many people will support us as possible."
Proceeds from the trek and other associated events will go to The
Prostate Cancer Charity. Tickets for the dinner cost £45 each and it
costs £400 for a table of 10.
