Must admit to being a tad annoyed about the result even though I would have sent the reserves out in the early rounds of this shite competition.
I thought the initial team selection / tactics were bizarre - Becchio up front on his own !??? Yes Simon. At least he had a word with himself early in the first half and quickly changed however I don't think Gradel is suited to a central position. As for Becchio, I'd put that down as one of the most inept performances I've seen from a Leeds striker. Grella showed more class in 10 minutes than Becchio did in the full 95. And why didn't he take a pen ? He always wants to when we get one during the game. A striker not taking a pen and leaving for the left back ? What's that all about then ? I thought Howson was completely off the pace tonight ? There's some games where he just doesn't perform. I can't understand it, and Doyle at best is a plodder. Lubo - too ponderous on the ground. Plusses - I though McSheffrey looked very lively second half and I think he's going to be a very important player for us in the run in. I thought Bradley Johnson looked strong and direct when he came on. Grella needs to be given a chance.
