The Football Association is committed to taking whatever action is necessary to
maintain and improve the quality of all aspects of the game of football as it
is played at all levels in the UK. To this end, a Special Ad Hoc Committee has
been set up, which will meet whenever needed to deal with any perceived faults
or weaknesses in the way football is organised. In an effort to cut through red
tape and promote radical reform, the committee will be empowered to decree any
changes to any aspect of football, with immediate effect.

The first meeting of the Special Ad Hoc Committee was called yesterday, to deal
with what has clearly become a major problem; ie the status of Leeds United
Football Club.

Background: Recent events have clearly shown that Leeds United are in the wrong
league. The performances of the team against top level opponents have
demonstrated that their rightful place is in the Premier League. This
discrepancy has been exaggerated by the fact that there are so many teams who
actually are in the Premier League who clearly could not match the level of
performance demonstrated by Leeds United in these games. Furthermore, the
recent disturbing events at Brunton Park showed that clubs in League One are
simply not set up organisationally to handle the size of crowd that they get
when Leeds United visit.

Committee decision (to take effect immediately): Leeds United will swap places
with the team in the Premier League who score the lowest on a coefficient
ranking the size of their home crowd and the quality (objectively assessed by
the FA Technical Director) of their play so far this season. That club has been
deemed to be Hull City, although there was enough bloody competition, I can
tell you.
