Thoroughly enjoyed last night - as expected though - our lowest crowd for a league game for a while (17500ish). Category A game against Oldham on a snowy Tuesday? Really paid off Ken didn't it?
A good professional performance all round I thought. We beat 14 men, (the ref, a linesman.... oh and Gregan is the size of two) and never looked threatened. >From where I was we had two definite penalty claims turned down - both off the ball committed by Gregan, once tripping Beckford and once knocking Becchio to the ground. How the linesman (on the east side) never saw these is beyond me. He also "missed" an obvious hand ball and a couple of blatant shoves right on front of him. As my mate commented - are they just biased against us or have they just got no bottle and wait for the ref to make all the calls? I must admit, the first goal was a long time going but you could feel the tension lift from the players and the crowd. I thought all players played there part - maybe IMHO Johny Howson had a poor first half - the others did well and I thought Kisnorbo and Hughes were exceptional. Aidy White's performance also is worth a mention - he looked really sharp running at their defence. So other than White and Lowry, we're back to the team that did us well earlier in the season. I'd stick with them. Let's do Huddersfield on Saturday to put them back in their place (plenty of them spouting off on the radio last night). First or Second - I don't care! Ted H Far too old, first game 1967ish v West Ham aged 8. Elland Road over the years........... Lowfields half-way line against the wall with me Dad >>> Lowfields on a stool (made especially by my Dad!) >>> Lowfields "Balcony" >>> Scratching Shed or Kop >>> Lowfields /Lowfields Corner or Kop - depending on away fans ;-) >>> South Stand or Kop >>> North East Upper (Bond) >>> Family Stand with my Son & Daughter >>> North East Upper!! _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
