YES YES lets get the BASTARDS! HOW DARE THEY get medals for doing NOTHING! - it is a DISGRACE to all those poor servicemen and women who have been KILLED or MAIMED fighting for our COUNTRY - oh hang on my caps key is broken, ooh and hang on I've just bothered to read a bit more about it and its not just for visiting a war zone, its for MPs who are part of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme a scheme to try and involve MPs in the business of being in the armed forces - OK so its only minimum of 22 days in uniform, but even so its not just for turning up. Deskbound servicemen and women get medals and many Medals are handed out willy nilly for non combatants as are temporary ranks for civvies working with the MOD (my dad was a colonel for 2 days!). Those in the know, know which medals mean something and which don't.
