Is Pete Southam still about? Years ago he asked me to send copies of all
my
Leeds United sticker badges and he had them tattood on different parts of
his torso.
Also where is Shane Hunt the Australian lad. He came over about 6-7-8
years ago,
it was a game against QPR, a Premier League game and Shane came to a list
meet in the
Brittannia. I took him a John Charles signed programme and he ended up
leaving
without it. The list meets in those days were a bit special, the "Usual
Suspects", started
with the people who attended the list meets, these were both at home and
away.
At the home meets there could be up to maybe 20-25 listers, maybe more and
the
away meets probably a dozen or even more. Honestly these were really great
times.
The European away games were also very special. From meeting at the
railway
stations to the flights back home, they were filled with memorable events.
Events like
getting to the ground in Malaga and the match tickets are back at the
hotel. Purposely
leaving lift doors open so your pals had to walk up the stairs p the top
floor and
greeting them with laughter when they finally got up there (Barcelona).
Someone
took a great dust-bin liner on the plane filled with cheese from Italy and
almost
stank the plane out. Playing keepy uppy in France whilst waiting for
transport.
When we went to France to play Troyes, we got settled into the hotel and
as we
were having a pre-dinner drink, all of a sudden a huge amount of people
started streaming into the hotel. It was the full party of Leeds United FC
including
Ridsdale. Getting grasshoppers painted on our heads in Zurich where it
pissed
it down all the time. On another occasion one of the lads (Sticky) got
mugged,
he bravely ran after the mugger and retrieved his wallet, unfortunately
there were other
rogues about and he was robbed again and beaten up, he had rib injuries
and
I think a broken arm or wrist, unfortunately he was alone when the attacks
happened.
Will these days ever return, Leeds United in a European Semi Final, of
course they will.

Yep, it was Karl. He attended at least one other Worldnet as I played
with him but did not attend the first
