The positive - we're still in 2nd place and our destiny is still, for about 2
more weeks, in our own hands re automatic promotion.
The negative - these players looked second best everywhere on the park last
night. Compare Bechio, or that idiot Gradel, to Batt who came on for Miwlall.
Direct forward play with a bit of pace and surprise, against in Bechio's case a
one-dimensional player who falls over like a big fanny when anyone comes near
him. As for Gradel, well he's starting to make Carlton Palmer look like a
genius in the ball-control department. Attitude and a daft haircut
unfortunately do not a decent player make. He's strictly an impact in last 10
mins player, who should be in the box, not out in left midfield! Other
standouts (for all the wrong reasons) - Ankergren - didn't inspire confidence,
Hughes - slow and far too often wrong side of his man - also 'gave up' after
Batt beat him for the 2nd goal. Drop him! Snodgrass - whilst he does have an
impact at times, his lack of pace makes him a defenders dream - he also coughed
up loads of possession last night. Not a good
performance.
Unless someone sticks a rocket up this teams collective ar*e, then an
ignominous exit from the first round of the play-offs looks a certainty.
I've just remembered - Gradel's SHOT?? God help us!!!
