It's looking like Grayson has lost the dressing room and it's looking

If you'd asked me (or, I bet, any other Leeds fan in the ground) that at
3:40 yesterday, I'd have said yes. We were playing some good football,
getting good crosses in, keeping possession well, and creating all the
best chances. Kilkenny was playing as a deep lying creative midfielder
and having a good game, Howson and Hughes were linking up well on the
right flank and Beckford was looking lively with several attempts on
target. I was really enjoying watching this.
Swindon were breaking forward occasionally, but hadn't really created a
clear opening, coming closest with a deflected shot that just spun past
the post. Then they scored a lucky goal: an innocuous, looping cross to
the far post, Hughes slipped as he turned to intercept it and Paynter
miss-hit his shot into the ground but it bounced up right into the top
corner. Higgs had no chance.
Even though we were losing the team was applauded off the pitch at half
time. Unusual for our fans.
Then almost straight after the break we conceded possession in our own
half and backed off Paynter to the edge of the area and he hit a
deflected shot that I reckon was going wide until it hit Collins. Higgs
had no chance again.
After that we pretty much threw the towel in, although we still created
some chances. The best one in a flowing move: Beckford to Grella to
Snodgrass who blazed it over from an acute angle.
Lots of anti-Bates songs in the Kop: "Build a team, not a hotel", "Get
the Chelsea out of Leeds", etc. And, this being Leeds, obviously plenty
of people getting on the players' backs. Can't believe Alick thought
the crowd was good yesterday. We've got a team with a good chance of
automatic promotion, but which has got the yips and now is the time that
an unconditional backing from the fans could really make a difference.
But then, I've always thought Leeds, by and large, have shit fans. "Go
on Beckford, fuck off to Everton" said the bloke in front of him. I
agreed, "After all, it's not like we need 30 goals a season is it?"
"When did he last score?" said the bloke.
"Well who the fuck else is going to score?"
"None of them"
Sums it up really.
If we play like we played in the first half against Yoevil and Southend,
we should do OK.
IF.
