John Charles made his first team debut as a centre back for Leeds United in

of the South <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_of_the_South_F.C.> on 19
April 1949

That was nigh on 61 years ago.

I was at that match-- I remember it vaguely . I was only 4 and that is not a
screen memory.
