A few questions on this then

1) How the f'ck did you get a ticket for the Leeds end , when I know loads of
lads who have been to quite a few away games this season that went down to
London without tickets and didn't get in.

2) we played with character and skill ? Were you really at the match ? Did
their keeper make a decent save in 90 minutes of football ? No. It's ok playign
square balls around the pitch like we did in the first half but if there's no
end product and your main striker on the day doesn't even have a shot on goal
then you're not going to win games. The second half was shite and we were
second best all over the pitch.

3) the fans surprised you with their frustration ? Well, I think they have a
right to be frustrated at the moment. Our form this year has been close to
relegation form and some of the performances have been a disgrace. Yes it'll
all be forgotten when we beat Rovers next week but if we don't does everyone
have to clap and cheer and say "Hard luck lads" or do we have the right to
question the manager and some of our players ? I f'cking hate this holier than
thou attitude of some on this list who say that fans should always be 100%
behind the team and shouldn't be seen to criticise at all. Fuck that !

Subject: [LU] Delayed Charlton views

Just got back to Munich after a great weekend in London and, if I dare admit
it, Norwich.

Haven't read any reports from The valley except some crap in The Observer, but
my view was that we played with some character and skill. Grayson decided to
take the gamble of bunging on Beckford & Grella at the end in view of the score
at Tranmere, which IMHO was an excellent decision regardless of the outcome.
Just before they scored, Beckford got on the end of a superb move (huge
crossfield ball from Johnson, brilliantly turned back across the goal to the
near post by Max..........Becks met it but put it into the side-netting.) It
was smack dab in front of us and I was sure it was going in and we were on our
way up. Agony! But it was a tough game against a good side, and I felt we
deserved at least a draw.  Huge shame also that Max didn't convert his 1 on 1
in the 2nd minute. I think Charlton were a bit fragile (3 pts from prev 4
games) and if they had gone down early i think they might have cracked.

I was very nervous about our defending in the first half, but after halftime
(maybe b/c it was all down the other end) I felt strangely relaxed and was
convinced (wrongly, of course, as it turned out) that they wouldn't score.

Player ratings:

Higgs  7  Hughes  7  Collins  8.5  Naylor 6.5  Lowry 7  Snoddy  4 (had a
shocker.......should have been "dragged off" way earlier)

Doyle 7  Kilkenny  7.5  BJ  6.5  Gradel  8  Becchio 7.5  Robinson  10.

I was surprised and impressed by the passion as well as the performance of
Collins. V impressed by Gradel's fitness and commitment.

Not too worried about next week...............am confident that if we play like
that, with more space and the crowd behind us against a mediocre side, we will
notch the win we need. Hope Grayson starts with Becks up front and Gradel in
place of poor old Snoddy.

One other point I have to make though.............the Leeds fans. As my mate
pointed out, these are the diehards because you couldn't get a ticket for this
one unless you had been to all the other away games. But what a bunch of
miserable, moaning gits they were. It wasn't just one or two.........EVERYBODY
around us mixed great vocal singing support with the most vitriolic and
negative criticism of any and every Leeds player who did not attack like Leonel
Messi when we had the ball or defend like Norman Hunter when they had it.
Greatest Fans in the World? Forget it! I know it is a cliche, but why do these
people bother going to games when everything makes them SO angry? These
miserable bastards don't deserve promotion.
