IMHO: Keeper: Not sure about Higgs, maybe he should be no 2 behind a new signing. Sorry, but Caspar is oot the door.
Back 4: Sad to hear about how Hughes is the new Mr. Leeds United b/c surely he will be the first one gone (although he did play OK at OT & WHL). Naylor must go & Lubo & Marques seem to be no longer in favour. I quite like Bromby and think he would be a good squad player. Obviously, Kisnorbo should be the new captain (but he won't be fit till Sept). Collins? If available, I think he hasn't looked too bad. At LB, only seen Lowry once but I thought he was good. Don't know if he is available premanently. Otherwise if Parker can stay fit he is an option, White apparently less so. Midfield: Don't think BJ has the quality. I seem to be the only person who appreciates Doyle, but he might struggle at a higher level. I have very high hopes that Kilkenny will thrive in a league where possibly there is a bit more time on the ball.......ditto Howson. Snoddy obviously must stay. Up front: I still harbour a dream that Beckford will ignore his agent and see sense and sign a new improved contract, but I accept that is a remote possibility. Presumably, Gradel will eventually be forgiven, and I think he should stay as a squad player. Becchio is a must. Somma is a wild card who might just replicate the career path of Beckford. Kandol bye bye. Grella.........you would think he has to go, but maybe he might thrive at a higher level with more time? In summary............... a wild guess at the starting XI for the opening game: New keeper New RB New CB Collins Parker Howson Killer New signing Snoddy Becchio New striker But that begs the question of whether Bates would sanction the purchase of 5 new players. Almost certainly he won't. perhaps 2 or 3 of them will be loanees, but you have to hope that this loaning-instead-of.signing policy will change now..........or maybe we can start to get more quality young Prem players like Watt or dare I say it? Delph. Maybe a more realistic lignup would be Higgs New RB Loaned Prem CH until Sept Collins Parker Howson Killer loaned prem MF eg Delph Snoddy Becchio New striker _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
